Where Will It End – Musica for Africa

Do you know the project “Musica for Africa“?

It is a work of African reggae artists and the Italian song writer and producer, Mariano, who has explained us the importance of it.
Together with the producer Nikki Turner, they have created an amazing song named “Where Will it End”.
This song has a deep historic meaning because it refers to the terrible Massacre of Garissa of  April 2 (2015).

What happened on this day?
A real human tragedy! Because a group of guerrilla fighters reached the campus of Garissa, with the use of bombs, killing the two guardians of the university. Afterwards, they went in the students dormitory, waking up them and asking in what type of religion they believe: who answered “Christian”, was killed immediately.

According to the official investigation, this brutal event would be a work of Mohamed Kuno (a teacher who taught in that University) who was against the Kenyan government.

Thus, these multi-ethnic artists want to remember this day through the song “Where Will It End”.
It is a hymn for those young people who were innocent, but just for religious and political reasons they have been killed. So it is important to do not forget it!

However, it is important to say that there are two versions of “Where Will it End”:
In the first one, you can see the work of  Thuthukani Cele, the musical collaborator keyboardist of Lucky Dube, and Mermans Mosengo, who is a member of the international group Playing for Change. These two African reggae artists has collaborated with the well-known The Witt choir, which is specialized in African tribal chants.

While, the second version is based on the work of the New York singer Clayton Bryant, who has collaborated with worldwide artists such as, Elton John, Aretha Franklin, Sting, John Legend, Natalie Cole, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and others. There is also the participation of the Soweto Gospel Choir.

The song “Where Will it End” is already available in online stores since the 31st of March 2017.

Lyrics of “Where Will it End”:

When all of your dreams have turned to nightmares
And all of your days seems dark as night
When you are the danger in every shadow
Then only you can make it right

Tell me how can you hate me
When you don’t know me
And who said you should hurt me
Before we’ve met
And tell me who was it told you
That I could never be your friend
So many lies

Where will it end
Time doesn’t care what road we walk down
Our choice the dark road or the light
We have such a tiny window to live our lives
And only we can make it right

Tell me how can you hate me
When you don’t know me
And who said you should kill me
Before we’ve met
And tell me who was it told you
That I could never be your friend
So many lies

Where will it end
